🚨🇺🇦 General Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, says long-range strikes alone cannot win a war and must be combined with conventional military operations to produce decisive results.
Budanov pointed to the U.S. campaign against Iran as an example, arguing that long-range attacks are primarily a supporting tool used to pressure, influence and coerce an opponent rather than destroy everything by themselves. He also cited Ukraine’s own experience, noting that Russia has repeatedly attacked the country with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and long-range jet-powered drones, yet has still failed to force Ukrainians into surrender.
🔥 His argument is a direct rejection of the idea that strategic bombardment can substitute for battlefield success. Long-range weapons can weaken infrastructure, disrupt logistics and impose costs, but wars are still decided by the broader combination of ground operations, air power, logistics, political endurance and the ability to break an opponent’s capacity or will to continue fighting.
