Mystery has reared its head over at the extreme court. Clarence Thomas was notably absent from a court session on Monday. The question on everyone’s mind is, why? Where could the man be? Clarence Thomas, the husband of an insurrectionist, rarely misses court sessions, but he did so on Monday. This obviously sparked a wave of speculation.

What could be the reason behind Clarence Thomas’s absence? What’s particularly puzzling is the lack of an official reason for his absence. Typically, when a justice is not present, a reason is provided, but in this case, it’s all a mystery.

What could be the reason behind Clarence Thomas’s absence? Well, perhaps he’s in a Walmart parking lot, watching people as he claims he likes to do. Or maybe he and Ginny renewed their wedding views. Anything’s possible in this court.

Could he be at Donald Trump’s trial? No, not likely. However, isn’t it ODD that it would happen on the first day of Stinky’s trial? Maybe Thomas, overwhelmed with grief that the Hush Money case went forward, took a mental health day.

. . .

On Twitter, speculations run rampant, with many hoping he was writing his resignation. Chief Justice John Roberts did note his absence but did not provide a reason for it. The mysterious Thomas vanishing is now a point of intrigue. Where are you, Clarence Thomas?

U.K. to Criminalize Creating Sexually Explicit Deepfake Images

Close-up of using smartphone on frosted glass background

The U.K. will criminalize the creation of sexually explicit deepfake images as part of plans to tackle violence against women.

People convicted of creating such deepfakes without consent, even if they don’t intend to share the images, will face prosecution and an unlimited fine under a new law, the Ministry of Justice said in a statement. Sharing the images could also result in jail.

Rapid developments in artificial intelligence have led to the rise of the creation and dissemination of deepfake images and videos. The U.K. has classified violence against women and girls as a national threat, which means the police must prioritize tackling it, and this law is designed to help them clamp down on a practice that is increasingly being used to humiliate or distress victims.

“This new offence sends a crystal clear message that making this material is immoral, often misogynistic, and a crime,” Laura Farris, minister for victims and safeguarding, said in a statement.

The government is also introducing new criminal offenses for people who take or record real intimate images without consent, or install equipment to enable someone to do so. A new statutory aggravating factor will be brought in for offenders who cause death through abusive, degrading or dangerous sexual behavior.

Indiana Fever Selects Caitlin Clark With No. 1 Pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft

Caitlin Clark poses with WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert after being selected first overall pick by the Indiana Fever during the 2024 WNBA Draft at Brooklyn Academy of Music on April 15, 2024 in New York City.

Caitlin Clark admitted she was a bit nervous before being chosen with the No. 1 pick in the WNBA draft by the Indiana Fever, even though it was no surprise.

[time-brightcove not-tgx=”true”]

“I dreamed of this moment since I was in second grade, and it’s taken a lot of hard work, a lot of ups and downs, but more than anything, just trying to soak it in,” Clark said.

The former Iowa star became a household name among basketball fans during her record-breaking college career, and she will now try and help revive the Indiana franchise along with last season’s No. 1 pick, Aliyah Boston.

“The organization has one of the best post players in the entire world. My point guard eyes light up with that,” she said.

The Fever taking Clark had been a foregone conclusion since she announced on Feb. 29 she would turn pro. Nearly 17,000 tickets were claimed to watch the draft at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, home to the Fever and the NBA’s Indiana Pacers.

Clark has helped bring millions of fans to the women’s game with her signature shots from the midcourt logo and passing ability. The NCAA’s all-time scoring leader was a big reason why a record 18.9 million viewers tuned in to the national championship game, which Iowa lost to unbeaten South Carolina. The Hawkeyes were also the national runners-up to LSU a year earlier.

Clark, who wore a white Prada jacket and skirt, hugged her parents and brothers and Iowa coach Lisa Bluder after she was drafted.

The draft was held at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in front of 1,000 fans, who bought all the tickets within 15 minutes of them going on sale a few months ago.

Los Angeles chose Stanford’s Cameron Brink at No. 2. She’ll get to stay in California and will give the Sparks a two-way player.

“When they called my name, a huge wave of emotions hit me,” Brink said. “I saw my mom tearing up and my dad and it hit home.”

A prolific scorer, Brink was also the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year. The Sparks needed to replace franchise player Nneka Ogwumike, who left for Seattle in free agency. Brink’s godmother, Sonya Curry, is the mother of Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry.

“I FaceTimed Steph five minutes before the show started and he said have fun with it,” Brink said. “He can share so much great advice since he’s been through this. Make stuff like this fun as it can be stressed.”

Chicago had the third pick and chose South Carolina’s Kamilla Cardoso before the Sparks were on the clock again and and selected Tennessee’s Rickea Jackson.

Cardoso had a busy week, helping the Gamecocks win the national championship to complete an undefeated season. She took part in the team’s championship parade on Sunday before traveling to New York.

Dallas took Ohio State guard Jacy Sheldon with the fifth pick. Washington drafted Aaliyah Edwards of UConn sixth before Chicago took LSU’s Angel Reese at No. 7, pairing her with Cardoso.

“She’s a great player and I’m a great player. Nobody’s going to get no rebounds on us,” the 6-foot-7 Cardoso said, laughing.

Minnesota, which had swapped picks with Chicago, drafted Alissa Pili of Utah eighth.

Left-Wing Dark Money Behemoth Behind Bail Fund for ‘Free Palestine’ Bridge Blockers

Scores of “Free Palestine” protesters across the United States took to the streets Monday to block major airports, highways, and bridges. Those who are arrested will receive bail money and legal support from a left-wing dark money behemoth funded by George Soros, an online fundraising page shows.

The protests, which took place in dozens of U.S. cities including San Francisco, Chicago, New York City, and Philadelphia, were organized by A15 Action, a newly formed group that worked to “coordinate a multi-city economic blockade on April 15 in solidarity with Palestine.” The group’s website directs users to a “bail and legal defense fund” hosted through ActBlue, the Democratic Party’s online fundraising juggernaut.

Those who donate to the fund, the ActBlue page says, are sending money to the Community Justice Exchange, which provides “money bail, court fees and fines” and other legal services to “community-based organizations … that contest the current operation and function of the criminal legal and immigration detention systems.” The exchange is a project of the Tides Center, a left-wing dark money network funded by Soros and other liberal billionaires.

The protesters, who organized the global event under the title A15, targeted economic “choke points” with the express purpose of causing as much financial disruption as possible, according to their website.

— Jaime Omar Yassin (@hyphy_republic) April 15, 2024

Ahead of the protests, A15 said it identified “major choke points in the economy” that it would “blockade” to “cause pain.” The group listed more than 50 participating cities, including Chicago, where dozens of protesters shut down access to the O’Hare International Airport for nearly an hour, forcing some travelers to walk with their luggage to the airport.

Similar protests occurred in San Francisco—where protesters held up traffic on the Golden Gate Bridge—and in Oakland, Calif., where protesters blocked all lanes on Interstate 880. Philadelphia and New York City also experienced disruptions.

At the A15 protest on Wall Street, protesters were photographed wearing Hamas bandanas and flying Hezbollah flags. Banks located near the protest were vandalized with red spray paint and graffiti that read “Funder of Genocide” and “Free Gaza.” Those protesters later blocked the Brooklyn Bridge.

Police across the country made dozens of arrests in connection with the protests, with defendants set to receive support from Community Justice Exchange.

“On April 15th, people from over 30 cities around the world will take action to demand a free Palestine,” A15’s fundraising page reads. “Donate here to support community members who are criminalized in the U.S. for their solidarity with Palestine.”

“Should the actions of the state result in the need for it, these funds will be used for bail, legal defense, and support for defendants.”

The Tides Center houses a variety of left-wing groups, including the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation. It funnels millions of dollars from wealthy donors to those groups.

The center acts as a “fiscal sponsor” to a number of liberal nonprofits, allowing the groups under its umbrella to avoid registering with the IRS. Some of those groups are known for their anti-Israel activism.

The Tides Center, for example, fiscally sponsors the Arab Resource and Organizing Center, which last year organized a “direct action” protest that attempted to block a U.S. military ship bound for Israel from leaving a port in Washington. It also sponsors the Adalah Justice Project, one of America’s most vocal Hamas apologists.

Soros and fellow liberal billionaire Pierre Omidyar are among the Tides Center’s major donors.

“The Tides Center is as liberal and politically active as they come; its entire purpose is to create new activist groups,” Scott Walter, president of the Capital Research Center, previously told the Washington Free Beacon.

The Tides Center, ActBlue, Community Justice Exchange, and A15 did not respond to requests for comment.

ActBlue’s website says its fundraising platform is only open to groups whose “work is not at odds with values including, but not limited to, social equality; women’s rights; LGBTQIA2S+ rights; racial justice; diversity; freedom of speech; disability rights; and respect for scientific inquiry, discovery, and data.”

A15’s “mutual solidarity agreement” outlines ways in which protesters are expected to “act in solidarity with each other in the face of attacks from the media, politicians and the police and the Zionist project.” Activists are encouraged to avoid talking to police and are not to “discourage or denounce each others [sic] plans because solidarity means affinity, not ownership.”

“If one city faces police repression, other cities will extend or expand their blockades or initiate other actions in response if able to the best of their abilities and capacity,” the agreement says.

“We will not attack each other or each other’s actions on social media or to the press. We will hold a post-action debrief so that we can raise principled critiques among ourselves in a constructive manner rather than publicly.”
